Accessing shared 1Password links

1Password allows the secure storing and sharing of passwords, this guide will walk through the steps to obtain the information that has been shared with you.

 

  1. You would have received a 1Password URL that looks something like this:

https://share.1password.com/s#2nYRppMQ23EzUKyFLiRXlM0iS9dWC1dZoDyFfuO5opQ

 

  1. The URL will take you to a webpage like this:

  1. The important step here is to know, this URL is accessible ONLY by the intended recipient unless stated otherwise. This URL cannot be shared to other users to allow them access. 

 

  1. Once you type in your email, this will trigger a One-time password to be sent to your email:

  1. Upon entering the One-time password, you will see the credentials or information that has been shared:

  1. Note the bar above the title of the information states how long the information will be visible to you in 1Password via this link, it is important that you extract the required information and store in your own secure choice of storage. 

 

Further notes: 

  1. If you receive a message like this: 
    1. The email you entered is either incorrect or the link has not been shared with you. 

 

  1. We may set certain parameters which we will inform you of via our means of sharing the URL these are not limited to the following;
    1. How long the URL will be valid for;
      1. Can be set to hours, days or weeks
    2. Who the content is shared with
    3. Read & Destroy;
      1. Once read, the content will be destroyed and is viewable for one-time only.
